Using Scenarios from the Advisor View
Scenarios can be created with Prospect or Client context, presented live, and reopened from the linked deal or client surface.
Creating a Scenario for a Client
- Navigate to Practice → Scenarios.
- Click New Scenario and select an available tool.
- Choose context: Client, Prospect, or Standalone. Select the client or deal when applicable.
- Policy Stack creates the scenario and opens the builder. Review any linked inputs or enter the model values manually.
- Rename the scenario in its title field. Input changes auto-save.
- Click Calculate to generate or refresh the modeled results.
Attaching Scenarios to Pipeline Deals
For a prospect still in the pipeline, create the scenario from the deal or choose Prospect context during creation:
-
Open the deal detail page from the Pipeline view.
-
Click the Scenarios tab.
-
Click New Scenario. The deal context is carried into the creation flow.
-
Choose a tool and continue. The new scenario appears on the deal with its name, tool type, and version.
The current interface links context when a scenario is created; it does not provide an Attach Existing Scenario action.
Presenting Scenarios to Clients
During Video Calls
Open the scenario builder and click Present for a clean, full-screen view. Screen-share only that presentation surface to keep the rest of the practice workspace out of view.
During In-Person Meetings
Open Present on a tablet or second screen. Use Share separately when the client needs a read-only web link.
Adjusting Live
Return to the builder, update the input, and click Calculate. Changes auto-save, and an active share link reads the latest saved scenario when reloaded.
Sending a Debt Sequencer Scenario to a Client Account
For a connected client with read consent, a client-context Debt Sequencer scenario can be sent to the client's account for review:
- Open the client-context Debt Sequencer scenario.
- Click Send to Client's Account.
- Policy Stack creates or refreshes the read-only review link and marks the handoff as Sent to Client's Account.
- The client reviews the shared or printable view from Payoff Path, then chooses Accept and Add to Payoff Path or Deny.
Opening the shared or printable view does not accept the handoff. Accepting first walks the client through reconciling the plan: it discloses how many external obligations will be added to their Liabilities, lets them link each obligation to an existing tracked liability or add it as a new liability, and — where a linked liability's recorded balance differs from the sent plan — lets them choose which balance carries forward. Accept and Add to Payoff Path then creates the client-owned Payoff Path using those choices. Denying records the response without creating client-owned financial rows. Until the client finishes setup, their Payoff Path detail page shows a Getting set up checklist for what's still open.
Printable Scenario Views
Every calculated scenario can open a print-formatted browser view:
-
Open the saved scenario.
-
Click Print view in the top action row.
-
A new browser tab opens with the printable scenario.
-
Use the browser's Print → Save as PDF action when a PDF file is needed.
Printable views are static captures for:
- Sending to clients who prefer a document over a link
- Attaching to email follow-ups after a meeting
- Including in client files for compliance documentation
The saved file captures the scenario as it existed when printed. Reopen Print view after later changes to create an updated file.
Organizing Your Scenarios
As your practice grows, the scenario list can become long. Keep it manageable:
- Name consistently — always include the client name and date
- Choose context at creation — Client and Prospect contexts keep new scenarios linked to the applicable record
- Duplicate before branching — use the scenario-list action menu when a separate variant is needed
- Filter the list — narrow by tool type or status; the current list does not include free-text search or archive actions
