Creating a Client Scenario
This guide walks through building a scenario from scratch for a specific client — from choosing the right tool to saving and attaching the scenario to their profile.
Choosing the Right Tool
Start by identifying what question the client is trying to answer:
| Client Question | Tool to Use | |----------------|-------------| | "How do I eliminate my external obligations?" | Debt Sequencer | | "Should I use a policy loan or external financing?" | Financing Modeler | | "How fast is my capital cycling?" | Capital Velocity Calculator | | "What if I repay at a different pace?" | Policy Loan Repayment Modeler | | "What income will my deployments generate?" | Income Stacker | | "How does financing a vehicle compare?" | Financing Modeler | | "How does recorded policy data project forward?" | Cash Value Projector | | "How long do current obligations and capacity run?" | Capital Runway | | "How do multiple policies and deployments interact over time?" | Family Banking Engine |
Building the Scenario
- Navigate to Practice → Scenarios and click New Scenario.
- Choose an available tool. Debt Sequencer, Income Stacker, and Financing Modeler are public; approved preview accounts also see the five in-preview tools.
- Choose context: Client, Prospect, or Standalone. Client context can pre-fill shared account data; Prospect links the new scenario to a pipeline deal.
- Select the client or deal when that context requires one. Policy Stack creates and names the scenario, then opens the builder.
- Enter or review the inputs. Changes auto-save after a short delay.
- Click Calculate to refresh the modeled output.
- Rename the scenario in the title field when a more specific label is useful.
Client and Deal Links
Choose the context before the scenario is created. A Client scenario stores the client household link; a Prospect scenario stores the pipeline deal link. The linked scenario then appears on the applicable client or deal surface. The current builder does not provide a later Attach to Client or Attach to Deal menu.
Iterating on a Scenario
Scenarios auto-save edits. Click Calculate after changing an input to update the results. Use History to inspect and restore earlier configurations, or use Duplicate from the scenario-list action menu when you want a separate scenario.
All scenario outputs carry the "Modeled · Illustrative · Not recorded" label. Scenarios are exploratory tools — they show what the model produces given the inputs, not what will happen.
