Setting Scenario Context
When you create a scenario, choose Client, Prospect, or Standalone context. Client context can pre-fill shared Policy Stack records; Prospect context links the scenario to a pipeline deal; Standalone keeps it independent.
How Context Works
Client pre-fill depends on the selected tool and on the client's consent to share tool data:
| Tool | Data Pre-Filled from Context | |------|------------------------------| | Debt Sequencer | Available CV and active policy-loan inputs; external obligations remain manual | | Financing Modeler | Available CV and an active policy-loan rate when recorded | | Capital Velocity Calculator | Latest policy values and recorded deployments | | Policy Loan Repayment Modeler | Active policy-loan balances and rates | | Income Stacker | Recorded policies and latest cash values as starting inputs | | Cash Value Projector | The first policy's latest CV and recorded premium split | | Capital Runway | Total CV, policy-loan balances, premiums, and estimated deployment income | | Family Banking Engine | Recorded policies, latest snapshots, and deployments |
Setting Context
- Open Practice → Scenarios and click New Scenario.
- Choose the scenario tool.
- Select Client and search for the linked client, or select Prospect and choose a deal.
- Continue to create the scenario. Policy Stack loads any available client inputs before opening the builder.
- Review every pre-filled value and its source before calculating.
Client context uses the records currently shared with the practice. Missing consent, missing records, or unavailable source fields remain manual inputs rather than being inferred.
Without Context
Standalone and Prospect scenarios start from the tool's default model inputs. Enter the applicable values manually; Prospect context links the scenario to its deal but does not read a connected household.
Context Is Set at Creation
The current builder does not expose a context switch after creation. Create a new scenario with the correct Client, Prospect, or Standalone context when that link needs to change.
