Handling Consultation Requests
When a prospective client views your public profile and clicks Request a Consultation, they submit a brief form. You receive a notification and can respond from your advisor dashboard.
The Request Flow
- Client submits a consultation request from your profile page — they provide their name, email, and an optional message
- You receive an email notification at your registered advisor email address
- You review the request in your dashboard under Clients → Consultation Requests
- You respond by accepting, declining, or scheduling directly via your calendar link
If you have a calendar booking link on your profile, clients see a Book a Call button in addition to the request form. Calendar bookings bypass the request queue and go directly to your calendar — no inbox step required.
The Consultation Requests Inbox
Your Consultation Requests inbox shows all pending and past requests with:
- Client name and email
- Date submitted
- Message (if provided)
- Status — Pending, Responded, or Archived
Managing a Request
- Click any request to open the detail view
- Reply using the email field to send a direct response to the client's email address
- Archive the request once handled — archived requests are retained for reference but leave your active inbox
Notification Preferences
By default, you receive an email for every new consultation request. You can adjust notification frequency in Settings → Notifications:
- Immediate — email on every request (default)
- Daily digest — one summary email per day
- Off — no email notifications (manage requests from the dashboard only)
Responding to requests quickly increases the likelihood a prospect becomes a client. Requests that go unanswered for more than 48 hours are automatically marked as Unresponded in your inbox as a reminder.
Converting Requests to Clients
Once you begin working with a prospect, you can convert them to a connected client:
- Open the consultation request detail
- Click Invite as Client — this sends the prospect a Policy Stack invite with you as their connected advisor
- Wait for them to accept — once they create or link their account, they appear in your Clients list
