Policy Stack is software for the ongoing management of an Infinite Banking practice built on whole life insurance. Illustration tools end their job when the policy is issued; a banking system runs for decades after that. Policy Stack is the system of record for those decades: every premium, paid-up addition, cash value update, policy loan, loan repayment, and capital deployment, recorded in one place and visualized as a working banking system rather than a folder of statements.

What Policy Stack is — and is not

Policy Stack is a tracking and visualization tool. It records and organizes the information you enter from carrier statements and documents. It does not design or illustrate policies, it does not connect to or alter carrier records, and it does not provide financial, insurance, tax, or legal advice.

What Policy Stack tracks

A whole life banking system produces a steady stream of records. Policy Stack gives each one a structured home:

  • Policies — carrier, issue details, base premium versus paid-up additions, dividends, cash value, and death benefit over time, entered from statements or extracted from uploaded policy documents.
  • Policy loans — every policy loan with its balance, capitalized interest, and loan-to-value ratio against available cash value.
  • Loan repayments — repayment activity recorded against each loan, with progress visible per loan and across the whole system.
  • Capital deployments — where deployed capital went (a vehicle, a property, a business use), what it returns, and the spread against the loan.
  • Cash flow and Net CV — premiums in, loan proceeds out, repayments back, and the resulting Net CV across every policy in the system.

Recorded values and modeled values are never mixed: anything projected or illustrative carries a Modeled label, and carrier statements remain the authoritative source for policy information.

Who it serves

Individual policy owners and families

Most people practicing whole life banking track it in a spreadsheet — or not at all. Policy Stack replaces that with a dashboard that answers the questions a banking system raises: how much cash value is available, what is out on loan, how repayment is progressing, and how the system has grown year over year. The Starter plan is free and tracks one policy; Builder Pro adds unlimited policies, capital deployments, goals, and analytics.

Advisors and practitioners

Advisors who implement Infinite Banking face a different problem: the client relationship continues long after placement, but the tools mostly stop at illustration. The Practice plans give an advisor a workspace across their book — client seats with consent-scoped access to each client’s recorded system, exports for reviews, and a listing in the advisor directory. Policy Stack is built to support the advisor relationship, not replace it.

Policy Stack versus a spreadsheet

A spreadsheet can absolutely track a banking system — many practitioners run years of history in Excel or Google Sheets. The cost is upkeep: the owner maintains every formula, every new tab per policy, every loan schedule, and every chart by hand, and collaboration means emailing files. Policy Stack provides the data model instead: structured records with validation, a running ledger, automatic loan-to-value and repayment math, and charts that update when a value is recorded. The full breakdown is in Policy Stack vs. Excel.

Policy Stack versus illustration tools

Illustration and calculator suites — Truth Concepts is the best-known example — are built to explore and present scenarios: how a policy design might perform under stated assumptions. That is a pre-sale and educational job. Tracking is the post-sale job: maintaining what actually happened. The two categories complement each other, and many practices use both. See Policy Stack vs. Truth Concepts for the side-by-side.

Policy Stack versus CRMs and carrier portals

Insurance CRMs manage relationships — pipelines, contacts, commissions. Carrier portals show one carrier’s view of its own policies. Neither maintains a cross-carrier record of a whole banking system: loans and repayments alongside deployments and cash flow. Policy Stack sits in that gap; the comparison with agency CRMs is in Policy Stack vs. Insurance CRMs.

How tracking works day to day

Setup starts from your documents: upload a policy PDF and extraction pre-fills the policy record, or enter the values directly. From there the cadence follows the policy’s own calendar — record the annual statement when it arrives, record a policy loan when you take one, record repayments as you make them, and record where deployed capital went. Financial values are encrypted at the field level at rest, and your data can be exported at any time. The result is a banking system you can read at a glance instead of reconstructing from statements.
