AI Insights are automated, factual observations that Policy Stack generates by analyzing your banking system data. They surface patterns, changes, and notable data points so you can stay informed without manually reviewing every metric.
What AI Insights Are
Insights are short, data-driven observations about your policies, loans, assets, and overall banking system. Policy Stack prepares a weekly report from your recorded data, and Builder Pro users can request a fresh report on demand.
Every insight is factual and non-judgmental. You will never see motivational language, warnings, or recommendations. Insights describe what your data shows — nothing more.
Example Insights
Here are the kinds of observations AI Insights surface:
- "Your capital velocity increased from 1.2x to 1.8x over the past 6 months."
- "Policy #2 cash value grew 8.3% since your last snapshot."
- "Your total loan balance across all policies decreased by $12,400 this quarter."
- "The spread on your real estate deployment is currently 3.8% based on recorded return rate and loan rate."
- "You have recorded 4 loan repayments this month totaling $2,600."
Notice that each insight states a fact. None of them say whether the fact is good or bad, and none suggest what you could do differently.
How Insights Are Generated
For each report, Policy Stack's insight engine reviews your banking system data:
- Data collection — the system gathers your latest snapshots, loan balances, deployment returns, loan repayment activity, and ledger entries
- Analysis — an advanced language model identifies meaningful patterns, changes, and data points across your banking system
- Insight creation — notable observations are written as clear, factual statements
- Delivery — the report appears in Dashboard Weekly Intelligence and in the AI Insights archive
Weekly generation can run automatically when AI Insights are enabled in your preferences. You can also open the insight panel and generate a fresh report after recording meaningful changes.
Read the Sources
The report combines recorded values with computed metrics. Summary values identify their source, while the generated narrative explains patterns across the selected week. Verify a number at its linked policy, loan, asset, or ledger record when the source data needs review.
AI Insights are generated explanations of Policy Stack records. They do not replace carrier statements, lender records, or the underlying entries in your account.
Generation Availability
Builder Pro has no monthly AI Insights quota. To avoid duplicate reports, one fresh on-demand generation is available per household each day.
- Weekly reports persist — prior reports remain available in the AI Insights archive
- Generate fresh — request a new report after the underlying records change
- Daily duplicate guard — after one fresh generation, the next on-demand report becomes available the following day
What AI Insights Do Not Do
Insights have clear boundaries that align with Policy Stack's philosophy as a tracking tool:
- No recommendations — insights never suggest actions, strategies, or changes to your banking system
- No warnings — insights do not flag balances as "high" or loan repayment timelines as "behind." Your banking system is yours to manage as you see fit
- No motivational language — you will never see "Great job!" or "Keep it up!" Insights are data observations, not coaching
- No comparisons to other users — your data is never benchmarked against other Policy Stack users
- No predictions — insights describe what has happened and what your current data shows, not what will happen
Insights on the Starter Plan
If you are on the Starter plan, AI Insights are visible on your dashboard but blurred with a lock icon. You can see that insights exist but cannot read their content. Clicking a blurred insight presents an option to explore Builder Pro.
This design lets you see the value of insights before deciding whether to subscribe. No data is processed for insight generation on the Starter plan.
How Insights Connect to Your Dashboard
Insights complement the data already visible on your dashboard. While your dashboard shows current metrics — Total CV, Available CV, capital velocity, system phase — insights highlight changes and patterns across time.
Think of your dashboard as the current snapshot and insights as the narrative layer that describes how your banking system is evolving based on the data you have recorded.
Review a weekly report alongside the source records it references. A fresh snapshot, repayment, or cash-flow record can change the next report.
