Understanding Your Dashboard

When a statement leaves Cash Value blank, the policy keeps its most recent recorded Cash Value, shown “as of” the statement that recorded it. A statement that does not report the loan keeps the last recorded Loan Balance the same way, or a newer logged policy loan, or $0 when none was recorded, so Net Cash Value always shows. Home's Loan Balance detail is chart-only, with insured and range controls; partial subtotals remain distinct from complete totals. Net Cash Value, Death Benefit, and Loan Balance details show Policy Inventory below the chart. The Loan Balance card subheading says “Across X policies.”

Select a card to open its detail, switch metrics, close to return to the cards, and choose 6 months, 12 months, 3 years, 5 years, or All. The KPI chart tooltips share date and value styling across Home, Policy Portfolio, and policy workspaces. Premiums Paid ends at its chart and summary. The charts stack at narrow screen widths. The Premiums Paid chart stacks Base Premium and PUA payments by month and shows their running total. In the Death Benefit summary, coverage above a policy's base can include dividend additions, so it is not necessarily all PUA coverage. Guaranteed and PUA composition appears only when those components were reported in saved snapshots; missing values stay unavailable rather than being treated as zero.

Activity

Activity has Overdue, Upcoming, and Recent tabs. Overdue shows past-due items and confirmations. Upcoming combines scheduled items, other upcoming activity, and future confirmations. One collapse control covers all three Activity tabs. The separate Calendar section below shows a Sunday–Saturday week with event labels and amounts, expands to a month, and filters liabilities, income-producing assets, bills and recurring expenses, and premiums; planned PUA dates with reminders on appear under premiums. Calendar has its own collapse control. Activity’s header shows computed passive-income and capitalizing totals for the next 30 days. Base Premium and PUA due on the same date for the same policy share one confirmation action while remaining separate ledger entries. A pending asset-income row can offer Confirm, Edit, and It didn't come in. Other rows expose the actions supported by their record type. Scheduled amounts remain distinct from recorded transactions, and projected entries keep their source labels.

Freedom Path shows a debt-free date from your saved plan in Debt Payoff Path, and what share of your entered monthly expenses your recorded passive income covers in Wealth focus. The Next 30 days strip in Activity's header separately rolls up recorded and scheduled passive income and capitalizing activity. Base-premium obligations come from each policy's saved schedule; loan repayments can appear from current Auto Log schedules, or as a Projected entry computed from a draw's own repayment plan when it has no Auto Log schedule. Actual premium, PUA, and loan-repayment records appear after they are recorded. When a planned schedule and an actual record describe the same nearby event, the dashboard keeps one source-linked row instead of showing the obligation twice. With an active Payoff Path, Upcoming lists the open month's steps, labelled Planned: each policy loan or policy loan repayment step, one line counting the other steps to record, or Finish once nothing is open. While Focus shows its Debt freedom tab, they appear there instead. Selecting one opens Payoff Path. A Loans-tab repayment on the same policy loan that month is not listed again. Recent groups unread notices under New since your last visit and shows their count on the tab. Choose Mark all seen to mark those notices as read. Dated ledger records and policy snapshots appear under Earlier with recorded amounts; qualifying records show the XP earned. These recorded-history rows do not have a separate read state. View all activity opens the ledger.

Your Next Move

Home shows one next move at a time, based on your records:

• Policies your advisor prepared come first: Review and import.
• A new, empty household starts with the example-workspace guided tour, then Add your first policy, with what to have ready: a spec page or contract, and an annual statement or portal screenshots.
• A household with a policy but no snapshot sees Record a policy snapshot, then the tour.

The tour is offered only to new households. Skip shows the next move and stays skipped when you come back. Adding your first policy adds 50 XP: 25 for the policy and 25 for its Policy details setup step; completing the guided tour adds 150 XP.

After your first snapshot, choose Remind me every Month or Week. Change it later in Settings → Notifications.

Keep Records Current

Add policy snapshots when carrier values change, update external balances in Net Worth, and record asset cash flows and liabilities on their source pages. Home recomputes its summaries from those records.
