Pipeline Dashboard Metrics
The pipeline metrics dashboard (Pipeline → Analytics) gives you a summary of how your prospecting process is performing across deals, stages, and time periods.
Summary Metrics
At the top of the analytics page, four summary cards display:
| Metric | Description | |--------|-------------| | Active Deals | Total deals currently in the pipeline (excluding Won/Lost) | | Won This Period | Deals marked Won in the selected time range | | Lost This Period | Deals marked Lost in the selected time range | | Conversion Rate | Won / (Won + Lost) for the period — excludes still-active deals |
The time period selector (top-right) lets you view Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, Last 12 Months, or All Time.
Stage Funnel
The stage funnel chart shows how many deals entered each stage and how many exited to the next stage. This makes it easy to see where the largest drop-off occurs in your process.
Example: If 20 deals enter Discovery but only 8 make it to Proposal, the Discovery → Proposal transition is where most prospects disengage. That's a signal about what happens in the discovery conversation, not a performance judgment.
Average Time in Stage
For each stage, the table shows the rolling average number of days deals spend before moving forward (or being marked Won/Lost). Compare these to your own intuition about how long each stage typically takes:
- A longer-than-expected Application stage may reflect underwriting delays (external, not practice-related)
- A longer-than-expected Discovery stage may reflect scheduling friction or unclear next steps
Average time in stage is calculated only for deals that exited the stage (moved forward or were closed). Deals still sitting in a stage do not factor into the average — they appear as "In Progress" counts beside the average.
Loss Reason Breakdown
A bar chart shows the distribution of loss reasons across all lost deals in the selected period. Sort by count to see your most common exit reasons.
Deal Value Tracking
If you enter deal values when creating deals, the analytics page also shows:
- Total pipeline value — Sum of all active deal values
- Won value — Sum of deal values for won deals in the period
- Average deal value — Won deal value / count of won deals
Deal value is most useful when you're consistent in how you estimate it — either always using annual premium, always using face amount, or another consistent measure. Mixed definitions make the aggregate numbers unreliable.
