What the Pipeline Does
The pipeline is a Kanban-style board that gives you a visual map of where every prospect and new client sits in your process — from first contact through to an active banking system.
Why a Pipeline Matters
Most advisors track prospects in spreadsheets, email threads, or memory. The problem: nothing surfaces who needs attention, how long someone has been sitting in one stage, or what the conversion rates look like across your practice. The pipeline solves all of this in one place.
The Board
The pipeline board shows one column per stage. Each prospect or new client appears as a card in their current stage. Cards show:
- Client name
- Days in current stage
- Most recent note snippet (if any)
- Open reminder indicator (if a reminder is due soon)
- Deal value (if you've entered an estimated policy value)
What a "Deal" Is
In pipeline terms, a deal represents one prospect's journey through your process. A single person is one deal, even if they're eventually going to have multiple policies. You can attach multiple scenarios and notes to a single deal.
Deals are separate from client records. Once a prospect reaches the Active stage and has a connected or seated client account, their deal links to their client profile — you can navigate between pipeline view and CRM view without losing context.
Moving Through Stages
You move a deal between stages by dragging the card to a new column on the board, or by using the stage dropdown on the deal detail page. Every stage change is logged with a timestamp in the deal's activity history.
Pipeline vs. Client List
| Pipeline | Client List | |----------|------------| | Prospects + new clients | Active clients only | | Stage-based Kanban view | Table/list view | | Tracks deals and conversions | Tracks banking system data | | Forward-looking | Current state |
The two views complement each other. Start in the pipeline for prospecting and conversion work; move to the client list for ongoing relationship management.
You can view the pipeline as a list instead of a Kanban board. Click the list/board toggle in the top-right corner of the pipeline page. List view is useful for sorting by days-in-stage or deal value.
