Setting Client Reminders
Reminders keep you from letting client relationships go quiet. Set them for follow-ups, policy anniversaries, or anything that needs your attention on a specific date.
Creating a Reminder
-
Open the client's profile.
-
Click the Reminders tab.
-
Click "Add Reminder."
-
Enter a title describing the action (e.g., "Annual policy review call").
-
Select the due date using the date picker.
-
Choose a notification channel: In-app, Email, or Both.
-
Optionally, toggle "Recurring" and set the frequency (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Annually).
-
Click "Save Reminder."
The reminder appears in the Reminders tab and in your advisor dashboard's upcoming tasks panel.
Notification Preferences
For each reminder, you choose how you want to be notified:
- In-app — A notification appears in your Policy Stack notification center on the due date
- Email — An email is sent to your account email on the morning of the due date
- Both — You receive both in-app and email notification
You can change your default preference for new reminders in Settings → Notifications.
Recurring Reminders
Recurring reminders automatically create the next instance when you complete the current one. For example, an annual policy review reminder set for March 15 will generate a new reminder for March 15 of the following year as soon as you mark the current one complete.
Use annual recurring reminders for policy anniversaries — Policy Stack can surface the exact anniversary date from the client's policy data, so you can pre-fill the reminder to match.
Completing a Reminder
Mark a reminder complete by clicking the checkmark next to it in the Reminders tab or from your dashboard task panel. Completed reminders move to the "Past" section of the tab and remain in the activity log.
Reminders Across the Practice
Your team members can see reminders you set (and you can see theirs) for shared clients. This prevents duplicate follow-up and keeps everyone aligned on client touchpoints.
