Requesting a Debt List Before a Call
Request debt list creates a standalone, dedicated debt-list link — separate from Household Check-In — where a prospect can enter what they currently owe. Send email sends that link; Copy link lets you deliver it yourself. The advisor sees the request as Pending until the prospect submits it, then Submitted, and Policy Stack creates a Debt Sequencer scenario from their entries.
Send the Request
- Open Practice -> Clients and select the contact.
- Open Discovery and find the debt list section.
- Select Request debt list.
- Choose how long the link stays open — 7, 14, or 30 days.
- Add an optional personal message.
- Select Send email or Copy link.
A pipeline deal is not required. If the contact already has one, it is attached to the request automatically.
Send email requires an email address on the contact. Copy link works either way, for advisors who deliver the link themselves.
One Live Link at a Time
Requesting again revokes the previous link and issues a new one. Only the newest link works, so a prospect who kept an older message cannot open a stale form. The timeline records whether a request was a first send or a re-send.
What the Prospect Sees
Entries save as they go, so a prospect can add one debt now and the rest later. Nothing reaches your practice until they send the list. They can also remove what they entered at any time from the same link.
The Reminder
If a prospect has not sent their list about three days before the link expires, Policy Stack sends one reminder — never more. Its wording depends on where they stopped: a prospect who saved some debts is told their list is still waiting, and one who never started is simply re-offered the link.
Two cases never receive a reminder:
- A copy-link request, because Policy Stack has never emailed that prospect and a reminder would be the first message they ever received.
- A list the prospect has removed.
The reminder describes progress in counts only. It never contains a balance, a rate, or the name of a debt.
If a Prospect Removes Their Information
A prospect can withdraw their debt list at any time. Their entries are deleted, and any scenario you already built keeps the numbers it was created with.
If you request a debt list from someone who previously removed theirs, the dialog says so and gives the date. A new request always starts an empty list — nothing they previously entered comes back.
Reviewing What Comes Back
A submitted list becomes a Debt Sequencer scenario named for the contact. If the same prospect sends a list again later, the newer scenario is dated in its name and the earlier one is left alone, so the numbers you already presented stay exactly as they were.
