Referral Credit Billing
When you refer other advisors to Policy Stack, you earn referral credits that reduce your future invoices. This article explains how credits accumulate, when they apply, and how to track your balance.
How Referral Credits Work
Each qualifying referral earns you a credit toward your advisor subscription. Credits are awarded when the referred advisor completes their first paid billing cycle — not at the time of signup.
Referral credits are applied as a line-item discount on your invoice. They reduce the total amount charged to your payment method but do not change your plan's base price.
Credit Accumulation
Credits accumulate in your account as referrals convert to paid subscribers:

When Credits Apply
Credits are applied automatically on your next billing cycle after they are earned. If you earn a credit on the 10th and your billing date is the 15th, the credit appears on that cycle's invoice.
If your accumulated credits exceed your invoice total, the remaining balance carries forward to the next billing cycle. Credits are never lost due to a single low invoice.
Viewing Your Credit Balance
- Navigate to Settings → Billing
- Locate the Referral Credits section below your current plan details
- View your current balance, pending credits (awaiting the referred advisor's first paid cycle), and credit history
Credit Expiration
Referral credits remain in your account for 12 months from the date they are awarded. Unused credits expire after this period. The Referral Credits section in Settings displays the expiration date for each credit so you can track upcoming expirations.
If your account enters a Frozen state, credit expiration timers pause. Credits resume their expiration countdown when your account is reactivated.
