AI Usage Tracking
Policy Stack includes several AI-powered features in your advisor account. The AI usage dashboard gives you visibility into how these features are being used across your practice.
Viewing AI Usage
- Navigate to Settings → AI in your advisor dashboard
- Review the usage summary at the top of the page — this shows total requests for the current billing cycle
- Expand individual categories to see a breakdown by feature and date
What Counts as AI Usage
AI usage is tracked across the following features:

Haiku and Sonnet refer to different AI model tiers. Haiku handles conversational features and is used for high-frequency interactions like chat and note-taking. Sonnet is used for deeper analytical work like generating insights and extracting structured data from documents.
Usage by Model Tier
The AI usage dashboard breaks down requests by model tier so you can see the distribution:
- Haiku requests — AI Assistant conversations
- Sonnet requests — AI Insights generation and document extraction jobs
Each request is logged with a timestamp, the feature that triggered it, and the model tier used.
Usage Limits
Paid advisor plans have no hard caps on AI usage. The usage dashboard is informational — it helps you understand how AI features are being used across your practice without restricting access.
Usage tracking resets at the start of each billing cycle. Historical usage is retained and viewable in the usage dashboard for the past 12 billing cycles, allowing you to compare trends over time.
AI Usage and Client Accounts
AI usage from your connected clients' accounts (their own AI Assistant conversations, AI Insights, etc.) is tracked separately under their individual subscriptions. The usage displayed in Settings → AI reflects only your advisor-level AI activity — practice-level insights and document extractions you initiate.
