Refund Policy

Effective date: March 24, 2026

Policy Stack offers subscription plans for both individual practitioners (consumers) and financial professionals (advisors). This policy outlines when refunds are available, how to request them, and what falls outside the refund window.

This policy applies to all paid plans purchased directly through policystack.co. If you were billed through a third-party platform, that platform's refund terms apply.

1. Consumer Plans

Starter (Free)

No charges apply to the Starter plan. No refund is needed or available.

Builder Pro Trial

Builder Pro includes a 14-day free trial. Consumers referred by a financial professional receive a 30-day free trial. No charge during trial. Cancel before trial ends to avoid charges.

Builder Pro (Monthly)

Refund requests submitted within 7 days of the initial charge are honored in full, no questions asked. After 7 days, the current billing period is non-refundable. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period — no further charges will occur.

Builder Pro (Annual)

Refund requests submitted within 14 days of purchase are honored in full.

Annual renewals include a 5-day grace period. If you did not intend to renew, submit a refund request within 5 days of the renewal charge and it will be processed without review.

After 14 days from initial purchase (or 5 days from renewal), annual fees are non-refundable for the remaining term.

2. Advisor Plans

All advisor plans (Practice Solo, Practice 10, Practice 25, Practice 50) include a 30-day free trial. Practice 10 and above receive 3 complimentary client seats during the trial. No charge is applied during the trial period. Cancel before the trial ends and you will not be charged.

Monthly Advisor Plans

Refund requests submitted within 7 days of the first charge are honored in full. After 7 days, the current billing period is non-refundable. Cancel anytime to stop future charges. Unused seat capacity is not refundable.

3. Seat Overlap Proration

When a self-paying consumer is seated by an advisor, the consumer's subscription is automatically canceled with a prorated refund for the unused portion of the billing period. The consumer retains Builder Pro access through the advisor's seat.

4. Overflow and Team Seats

Overflow client seats ($15/seat/month) are billed as a metered add-on and reflected on the same invoice as the base advisor subscription. Team seats ($5/month each) are also billed as a metered add-on — charges stop when a team member is removed.

5. Annual Renewal Grace Period

All annual plans — Builder Pro and advisor plans — include a 5-day grace period beginning on the renewal charge date.

If you did not intend to renew, contact support within 5 days of the charge. Refunds under the grace period are processed within 5–10 business days. This grace period applies to renewals only, not to initial purchases (which are governed by the 14-day window above).

To avoid a renewal charge, cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before your renewal date. Your plan remains active through the end of the paid period after cancellation.

6. Referral Credits

Referral credits that have been applied to an invoice are not subject to reversal under this policy. If a referred subscriber receives a refund before the referral credit is applied, the credit is voided.

7. What Is Not Refundable

The following are not eligible for refunds under any circumstance:

  • Partial billing periods already in use
  • Accounts suspended or terminated due to Terms of Service violations
  • Requests submitted outside the applicable refund window
  • Fees associated with add-ons, data exports, or one-time purchases (if applicable)
  • Referral credits already applied to invoices

8. How to Request a Refund

Email support@policystack.co with the subject line “Refund Request” and include:

  • The email address on your account
  • The plan you were charged for
  • The date of the charge
  • A brief reason (optional, but helpful)

Eligible refunds are processed within 5–10 business days. Depending on your payment method, it may take an additional 3–5 business days for the credit to appear.

9. Changes to This Policy

Policy Stack reserves the right to update this refund policy at any time. Changes will be posted to policystack.co/refund-policy with an updated effective date. Continued use of a paid plan after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
