Exporting Analytics Data
You can export data from each section of the Analytics Dashboard as CSV or PDF. Exports reflect the currently selected date range and any active filters.
What Can Be Exported
| Analytics Section | CSV | PDF | What's Included | |-------------------|-----|-----|-----------------| | Dashboard Summary | ✓ | ✓ | Practice snapshot metrics, growth trends, engagement averages | | Client Engagement | ✓ | ✓ | Per-client engagement scores, login frequency, feature usage, last active date | | Portfolio Analytics | ✓ | ✓ | Aggregate book metrics, LTV distribution, velocity summary | | Funnel Data | ✓ | ✓ | Stage counts, conversion rates, deal source breakdown | | Retention Heatmap | ✓ | — | Cohort retention percentages as a flat table | | Referral Funnel | ✓ | ✓ | Click, consultation, and conversion counts per referral code |
The retention heatmap exports as CSV only. The grid format does not translate well to a single-page PDF, so the CSV provides the raw cohort data for use in a spreadsheet.
Export Formats
CSV — raw data in comma-separated format. Opens in any spreadsheet application. Best for further analysis, filtering, or combining with data from other sources. Each row represents one record (one client, one deal, one cohort, etc.).
PDF — formatted report with charts and tables. Best for sharing with team members or for record-keeping. The PDF matches what you see on screen, including any charts and visual elements.
How to Export
- Navigate to the Analytics section you want to export (Dashboard, Engagement, Portfolio, Funnel, Retention, or Referrals)
- Set your desired date range and any filters — the export will reflect exactly what's shown on screen
- Click the Export button in the top-right corner of the section
- Select CSV or PDF from the dropdown
- Download the file — it generates immediately for most datasets
If you need a comprehensive practice report, export the Dashboard Summary as PDF first — it includes the high-level metrics and trends. Then export Client Engagement as CSV for the detailed per-client data you can work with in a spreadsheet.
What's Included vs. What's Only Available In-App
Exports include the data values and summary statistics visible on screen. A few elements are only available in the app:
- Interactive charts — the PDF includes static chart images, but hover tooltips and drill-down interactions are only available in-app
- Client detail links — CSV exports include client names and metrics but not clickable links to individual client views
- Real-time updates — exported data is a snapshot at the time of export; it does not update automatically
Date Range and Filter Effects
The export always matches your current view:
- Date range — only data from the selected period is included. An export with "Last 30 days" selected will not include data from 60 days ago
- Source filter — if you've filtered the funnel to a specific deal source, only that source's data appears in the export
- Stage filter — if you've filtered to specific lifecycle stages, the engagement export includes only clients in those stages
To export unfiltered data, clear all filters before exporting.
