Connected Accounts links a financial institution to Policy Stack so an account's balance updates on its own, instead of you typing it in. It lives on the Net Worth page and is a Builder Pro feature.
Connections can reduce manual entry for accounts whose balances change regularly, such as a 401k, brokerage account, or credit card.
What the Connection Processes
Policy Stack opens a secure connection window to connect with your institution. The connection window may request account, balance, and transaction access. In this phase, Policy Stack records institution and account names, masked account digits, account categories, and balance updates; it does not import or store transaction records.
Policy Stack never sees or stores your institution username or password. The connection service and your institution process connection data under their own privacy terms. A connection cannot move money.
Connecting an Account
On the Net Worth page, choose Connected accounts at the top to open its own page, then choose Connect an account. Complete the institution flow in the connection window. The accounts you selected appear after Policy Stack receives the provider update.
After the provider discovers the accounts you selected, Policy Stack presents the newly discovered accounts together. You explicitly choose a destination for each one or keep it unlinked for later.
