Snapshot Reconciliation
Snapshot Reconciliation is a historical event label that can remain on older Policy Stack loan and Banking Ledger records from a previous proportional-adjustment flow.
Snapshot saves use the carrier-reported loan balance as the authority for the policy's Actual position and charts:
- A material increase beyond expected interest creates one canonical snapshot-backed draw
- A nominal increase is recorded as capitalized interest, not a new draw
- A decrease can offer a repayment follow-up; accepting it records the repayment and allocation without lowering the balance twice
- A matching manual draw follow-up reuses the canonical snapshot draw instead of creating a duplicate
- Skip records no characterization event
If a positive snapshot loan balance is recorded when the policy does not have a loan account yet, the account is created with that balance as its starting balance. Later snapshots keep the carrier position current without proportionally distributing a difference across existing draws. Add past activity can capture historical original draw amounts and current remaining balances without changing the latest snapshot.
Historical Snapshot Reconciliation rows remain part of the audit history. Editing the latest snapshot corrects its linked canonical event; backdated snapshots remain historical.
IBLOC balances never come from carrier snapshots because the lender is a third-party bank. Maintain them with Record draw, Record repayment, or Edit Loan on the IBLOC detail page. See IBLOC.
